Picks made today for fast track and NO turf

Race 1

2 – Pineapple Alley – seems to have found a spot to get that elusive 2nd win – drop in class helps

7 – Mrs. Della – showed some good speed in last – may have needed the race for fitness

Race 2

1 – Keep On – going to dirt – had lead in mid-stretch in last – rail draw a plus today

5 – Izondec – going from the turf to dirt which has produced good priced winners – short price though

Race 3

1 – Fitts N Starts – not a stellar group – first time starter doesn’t have to be all that to win

6 - Mo Smoking – ran 2nd last out at this distance and will be a prohibitive favorite to win this

Race 4

2 – Roll Gypsy Roll – good run in last – extra distance my suit talents – last may have been prep

1 – Frosty Diva – ran third at this distance in last and grabs the rail with rail skimming jockey Lanerie

Race 5

5 – Dinar – needs to hustle out of the gate but could get the lead and take these all the way

4 – The Queens Jules – the one to beat and has the early zip to grab the lead from top choice

Race 6

6 – Victory March – takes a drop in class and has run well enough in a few starts to take this heat

5 – Noble Gabe – first timer has some workouts that seem to tout some talent – could be a price

Race 7

6 – Ours and Theirs – gets back to running shorter distance – maybe needed last for fitness

1 – Noneya – has good speed and is uber consistent at this level – attracts leading rider for this

Race 8

1 – Donna’s Court – has a shot to take this field wire to wire at a big price – needs to get to the front

9 – Grey Sloan – never got on track in last with a poor break – rider sticks to ride is a plus

Around the Track

In race 5 today trainer Tom Van Berg saddles The Queens Jules, winner of last month’s Claiming Crown event, for Grit to Glory Racing Stable. Tom is the son of Hall of Fame trainer Jack Van Berg, a winner of 10 leading trainer titles here at the Fair Grounds and the trainer of more than 5,000 winners in a storied career. The familiar purple and gold silks of the Van Berg family will be on display when The Queens Jules makes his first start at the Fair Grounds today and it will be a welcome sight.

Best Bet

Our Best Bet today will be in Race 7 - # 6 Our and Theirs – will get back to a sprinting distance after a run around two turns and will offer a generous price today.

Good Luck and may they all come home safely.
