LSU Tigers' bats hot in regional. Can they do it again next weekend?

LSU catcher Hayden Travinski (25) celebrates at home plate with teammate Cade Beloso (24) after hitting a home run against Oregon State in the fifth inning of the Baton Rouge regional game on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge. Beloso would hit one himself in his at-bat to go back-to-back, and the duo would do it again on Monday to help the Tigers advance to the super regionals.

LSU easily advanced to its 16th Super Regional in school history, and they’re now just waiting to see who will visit Alex Box Stadium this weekend for the right to advance to the College World Series.

That obviously dominated talk on Monday’s “Bayou Bets” show, as Jim Derry and Spencer Urquhart were all over it. The duo also discussed the NBA Finals and whether the Miami Heat’s Game 2 victory over the Denver Nuggets was a fluke or a sign of things to come with Game 3 on Wednesday in Miami.

Also, Jim and Spencer chatted about Saints OTAs and the rumor about a certain backup quarterback being moved to the Raiders, and if you could have attended one Super Bowl that did not include the Black and Gold, which would it be?

“Bayou Bets” is sponsored by Caesars Sportsbook, official odds partner of The Advocate and Times-Picayune.

The show airs live at 4 p.m. every Monday and Thursday on the Bayou Bets YouTube channel  and can be viewed on demand there anytime.
