  • A little information...

Mrs. Ireland was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Jenkintown where she attended Immaculate Conception School and Bishop McDevitt High School. She received her undergraduate degree in Marketing from LaSalle University where she was a member of the women’s crew team. After working in the corporate world and managing a business with her husband, Mrs. Ireland decided to pursue a long time goal of becoming an educator. She returned to school and earned a Masters in Elementary Education from Arcadia University.  She has also earned her certification as a Wilson Reading System Instructor and a Wilson Fundations Instructor.

Mrs. Ireland has taught in Kindergarten through fourth grade classrooms.  Her focus and passion is in kindergarten.  She brings her Wilson training to the classroom to create a strong language development curriculum base.  Her focus is to provide a multi-sensory, hand-on, exploratory environment where students learn through a variety of experiences.    She strives to create a learning environment that is both challenging and collaborative. Mrs. Ireland believes that teaching in a Catholic school gives her students a stronger sense of community through their shared faith.

  • A little information...

Mrs. Lori Dolan was born in Philadelphia and raised in Erdenheim and now resides in Glenside, PA. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Arcadia University while working as a teacher’s aide and raising her daughter. She has been in the classroom for 17 years and can still say she ‘loves her job’. Her haven is Ocean City, NJ where she loves to read and relax.

As a teacher, Mrs. Dolan tries to make a connection with each student through whatever interests them and then build a relationship using that first connection as a building block.

Teaching at a Catholic school allows her to incorporate the beliefs and values that were instilled in her childhood to help educate children in this generation. StJP allows her to bring the faith of God cross-curricular to make children understand that no matter where their talents lie, the basis for everything they do or say should be one of respect for each other and themselves. She says, “When we understand that, we are living our faith”. The fact that she is at a school that can stop, pray, and discuss God at anytime during the day is essential to understanding the way God wants people to live. She really appreciates the sense of family that exists and the parental involvement. As a product of Catholic Schools herself she feels she owes the education and the lifelong friendships that she made to the dedicated teachers and families that she encountered.

She obtained her BS in Elementary Education from Chestnut Hill College and has chosen to always teach in Catholic schools because they are a faith community as well as a learning community which leads to a greater feeling of family. She has been teaching for eighteen years and has taught 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. She says she does not have a favorite, there is something unique about each age group. One of her favorite subjects to teach is Science because it is an interesting and exciting subject that allows children to experiment and explore information in order to find answers on their own. One of her favorite things to do is hiking, especially through the Wissahicken trails. She finds it is a great way to relax and unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature at any time of the year.
